2022 was a transformative year at All Safe Technologies. As with all businesses, we must regularly look within and ask ourselves, "how can we improve"? Since "improvement" is a relative term, identifying the keys to our past success is a great place to start. First and foremost, it always starts and ends with the people! Over the past couple of years, every business has been faced with unprecedented challenges around recruitment and retention within its workforce. While 2021 was a year to consciously maintain a strong but smaller core team, we were well positioned to grow in the first quarter of 2022. We started by aligning a management team with focus on empowerment through training and using a "hands on" support methodology. They then went to work by recruiting and hiring several talented individuals to help enhance each department. These additions to our All Safe family have already shown positive measurable results. I love to brag about this awesome group of folks, as I'm extremely thankful to be associated with each one of these professionals.
As with All Safe, the security industry in general is also in the midst of major transformation. It's no surprise that currently 36% of all internet households in the US have a home security system. This represents a 14% increase from just 5 years ago. Adoption of connected devices continues to grow with more than 1 in 3 households now having a smart home device. Without exception, every security system we install has interactive service capabilities. This allows you to add connected devices and services whenever you desire. As familiarity and value grow around specific device categories i.e., energy management, remote control of lights, locks, audio, video, etc., we will continue to work with you to help understand the potential benefits of them. Ultimately, our single most important goal is to start by providing a solution that keeps you, your family and businesses protected.
Our portfolio of customers is something we are very proud of as well. Yes... YOU! We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to provide security and life safety services for residences, large and small businesses, schools, municipalities, places of worship and government facilities throughout the Gulf Coast and lower Mississippi. As you might know, we are a relatively small business that relies on word-of-mouth referral and reviews. We won't spend lots of money on advertisement, as this only results in having to charge more for our services. All Safe Technologies past and future success will always reside solely through exceeding your expectations with every customer interaction.
Our strategy for 2023 is simple. Forge solid vendor relationships to provide you with the very best product and services at a fair price, remain active in our communities through networking and our local Chambers of Commerce, and finally... show the passion for what we do with every customer, during every opportunity available.
As we wind down 2022 and anxiously look forward to a spectacular new year, the entire staff at All Safe Technologies wishes you and your family the blessing of a safe holiday season and prosperous 2023.
